If Friends were Flowers with Newton's Nook Designs!!

Hello Crafty Friends!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!! I'm up on the Newton's Nook Blog today sharing a Card that I created using almost exclusively Die Cuts!! It's FUN sometimes to just use my Dies and some of my FAVORITE Products to make them come to life!! I started out by creating a Slimline Card Base 8 1/2 x 3 1/2!! I used the NEW Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set to cut the scalloped panel in the back, cut from Woodgrain Patterned Paper and then I inked the edges with some Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink!! Then I also Die Cut the panel in the front with the three portholes, from some Definition Patterned Paper using the same Die Set!! In between those two layers I added a stitched frame that was Die Cut from some TE Toffee Cardstock using the NEW Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set!! I inked the edges with some Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink!! Then I adhered all of the layers together using some iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive!!

I wanted to add some flowers to my card, so I used one of my FAVORITE Die Sets the Flower Trio Die Set to Die Cut Flowers and Leaves from some Therm O Web Deco Foil Flocking Sheets in Pink Carnation, Ruby Red and Rina K Designs Screamin' Green Neon Flock Sheets!! I inked the Edges of the Die Cuts using Work Lipstick, Aged Mahagony and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Inks!! I think it really helps to make the Flocking Texture POP, plus it adds some much need dimension!! This step isn't necessary, but I really feel that it adds to the over all design!! For the Flower Centers I Die Cut from a Piece of Cardstock that I added some Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo to and let it Dry completely!! Then I ran it through my Die Cutting machine with a piece of Opal Deco Foil!! Then I Die Cut the Small Flowers for a STUNNING Iridescent Shine!! I wanted to add some Butterflies, so I stamped them using Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink and then added some WoW Ultra Shimmer Embossing Powder to add some Iridescent Sparkle using the Monarchs Stamp Set and cut out with the coordinating Monarchs Die Set!! SWOON!! I LOVE the way they make the Design come to LIFE!! Like looking at a real Flower Garden!! I added some TE Bits and Pieces Drip Drops to the Flower Centers using some iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive and I LOVE the way that the Iridescent Sparkle ties together with the Iridescent Glitter of the Butterflies and the Iridescent Shine of the Flower Centers!! 

I Inked all of the Portholes with Speckled Egg Distress Ink For the Sentiment I LOVE adding WoW Glitter Embossing to help make one of the word POP!! In this case I chose the word Flowers!! I Stamped and Embossed the Sentiment using some Versa Fine Black Onyx Ink Masking off the parts of the sentiment using some Therm O Web Purple Tape!! Then I Embossed with WoW Embossing Clear Gloss Embossing Powder!! For the Flowers Word I Masked off the Stamp using Purple Tape and Stamped with Versa Mark Ink!! Then I Embossed with some Ruby Red Embossing Glitter!! The Embossing Glitter is a PERFECT match to the Ruby Red Flocked Flowers and creates a FUN Visual Triangle!! I LOVE the way it turned out and it was FUN to create a Card using almost ALL Dies!!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release ~ Porch Swing Friends and Roses!!

I'm here with Day 4 of the 

Newton's Nook Designs June Release!! 

Today we're showcasing the NEW "Porch Swing Friends" Stamp Set + "Roses" Stamp Set and coordinating Porch Swing Friends and Roses Die Sets!! 

Let's take a look at the AWESOME New Sets!!

SWOON!! I'm just in LOVE with these NEW Sets for today!! They are both so VERSITLE and the occasions and possibilities are ENDLESS with both of these Sets!! 

Here's what I've created for today!! 

For my Card I wanted to go with one of my FAVORITE Color Combos!! So I Stamped and Embossed the Image and then I Colored with Copic Markers!! I used  Swing: N0, N2 & N4  Cat: E40, E43, E44 & E47   Dog: E70, E74 & E77  Cheeks and Inside of Ears: R11   Red: R43, R46 & R89   Blue: B21, B34, B36 & B39  Turquoise: BG10, BG45 & BG49  

I wanted to add texture to the animals to help them stand out against the Pillows and Swing!! So we have a Siamese Cat and a Labradoodle Dog!! 
SWOON!! I just LOVE this SWEET Image!! 

I Die Cut the Image out and then I Inked the background of my Card Panel with some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink!! I also Stamped and Embossed the Sentiment using some WoW Clear Gloss and Red Glitz Embossing Powders!! I LOVE adding a POP of Color to my sentiments to really make one of the Words POP!! Then I also added some of the same Red Glitz Embossing Powder to a Mini Red Clay Heart to help finish off the Design!! I added the Image with some Foam Tape just to the Bottom part of the Image to make the Swing seem more 3-D and then adhered the Panel to a Frames and Flags Scalloped Frame Die Cut from some TE Blue Raspberry Cardstock!! Some White Gel Pen Highlights and some Tonic Studios Shimmer Pen finish off the Card!! 

For my Second Card I KNEW I wanted to create a Shaker Card using the NEW Roses Stamp Set and the NEW Slimline Frames & Portholes and the NEW Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set!! I started by Die Cutting the Slimline Dies to create my Cardbase and Shaker Window Frame!! Then I Stamped and Embossed the Images and Colored them in using Copic Markers!! I used Roses: R32, R35, R37 & R39  Greenery: G12, G14 & G17

I Inked the Inside Square Windows with some of the NEW Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink and then used the NND Bubbly Stencil to add some Inked Dots for some texture!! I also added some Black Soot Distress Paint Splatters and I LOVE how it turned out!! I Stamped and Embossed the Thank You Sentiment on the Top of the Middle Square using some Versa Mark Black Onyx Ink and some WoW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder!! Then I adhered the Colored and Die Cut Roses Images to the Squares and cutting off any of the excess!! I added some White Gel Pen Hightlights to the Roses and then I added some 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins, Mini Iridescent Heart Confetti and some Light Pink Iridescent Jewels to help add some contrast and make the Hightlights of the Roses POP!! I adhered the Acetate Window Frame over the top and my Shaker was finished!! (I've found that when making Shaker Cards I prefer to Die Cut several of the Frames from Cardstock and adhere them all together rather than mess with Foam Tape behind just one Die Cut Frame!! I think it makes the shaker more stable, but it can be done either way!!)

Newton's Nook Designs June Release ~ Neigh!!

I'm here with Day 3 of the 

Newton's Nook Designs June Release!! 

Today we're showcasing the NEW "Neigh" Stamp Set + coordinating Neigh Die Set!! 

Let's take a look at the AWESOME New Set!!

 How CUTE are these Images!!?? I also LOVE ALL of the AMAZING Sentiment options!! 

Here's what I've created for today!! 

 I Started by Stamping and Embossing the SWEET Horse Images from the NEW Neigh Stamp Set and the Flowers from the Woodland Spring Stamp Set!! I Stamped with Versa Fine Black Onyx Ink and Embossed with WoW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder!! Then I Colored the Images with Copic Markers!! I used: Horse: N0, N2, N4 & N6  Cheeks and  Inside of Ears: R11  Flowers: R00, R11 & R22  V01, V15 & V09   Greenery: G00, G02  YG61 & YG63  Horseshoe: V01, V15 & V09     Then I Die Cut the Images out using the coordinating NEW Neigh Die Set and the Woodland Spring Die Set!! I added some White Gel Pen Highlights and some Nuvo Drops in Sunshine Glitter to the center of the Flowers!! 

I Die Cut the NEW Slimline Frames & Portholes and the NEW Slimline Frames & Windows using both of the NEW Sets together to create a Layered Design!! I used some TE Lavender Glaze Cardstock for the Scalloped Frame, then I Die Cut the Square Window Frame from some White Cardstock that I inked with some Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink and then I cut a thin layer of some TE Sprinkles Cardstock to frame the Circle Frames Die Cut that I Cut from some White Cardstock!! I wanted the Circles openings to have some shading so I Inked them with some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink using the Circle Frame as a Stencil (I just simple flipped it over to the backside and Inked over the top!! I adhered the Images inside the Circle Frame openings and then I Stamped and Embossed the Sentiment and adhered the Horseshoe and Flower!! The Circle Frame was adhered and then I added the Woodland Spring Flowers and a scattering of some TE Bits & Pieces White Rhinestones for some Sparkle and Shine!!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release ~ Farming Fun Stamp Set, Slimline Frames & Portholes, Slimline Frames & Windows!!

I'm here with Day 1 of the 

Newton's Nook Designs June Release!! 

Today we're showcasing the NEW "Farming Fun" Stamp Set + coordinating Farming Fun Die Set, Slimeline Frames & Portholes and Slimline Frames & Windows!! 

Let's take a look at the AWESOME New Set!!

For my first Card I wanted to showcase the diversity of the NEW Slimline Die Sets!! I've combined them both together to create a BEAUTIFUL Design!! I added some dimension with the Flowers Die Cutting them from both some Therm O Web Deco Foiled Toner Sheets with some Very Cherry Deco Foil and some of the Ruby Red Deco Foil Flock Sheets!! SWOON!! This combination in real life is just so Striking!! 

For the Center of the Flowers I added some TE Bits and Pieces Drip Drops!! These are one of my FAVORITE Embellishments lately!! I just LOVE the dimension and the Iridescent Shine!! I Stamped and Embossed a Sentiment from a NEW Set being showcased later this week!! Trust me you're going to LOVE this set, and I can't wait to share what I've created!! 

For my second Card I wanted to show how you can alter the Slimline Dies to create a FUN A2 Card Design!! I actually played around alot with them and there are SO MANY possibilities!! I'll share more ideas in the coming weeks!! I Stamped and Embossed the Tractor Images and colored them with Copic Markers!! I used Tractor Body: R43, R46 & R89  Wheels, Smoke Stack, Seat and Steering Wheel: N08, N06 & N04  Light Grey Areas: N0, N2 & N3  Lights: YR00 & YR04  

After Die Cutting the NEW Slimline Frames and Windows Die from some TE Oreo Cardstock I Die Cut it again from some White Cardstock for the inside Windows and Inked the Clouds using the NND Cloud Stencil Set with some of the NEW Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink and an iCrafter Ink Dauber!! I LOVE the Color!! For the Ground I used some Purple Tape and Inked with Peeled Paint and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Inks!! I Stamped and Embossed the Sentiments using Versa Fine Black Onyx Ink and some WoW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder!! I added some Black Gel Pen Details and added some Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew to the Lights and Windows!!
