Dies to Die For Challenge!! =)

Oh how DIE~ABULOUS is this challenge!! =)
I LOVE to use my dies and if you want to play along or feel like you need an inspirational pick-me-up check it out here: http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2011/09/simon-says-dies-to-die-for.html
Well I had a hard time deciding what I was going to do for this challenge-but these dies made me want to create a garden of flowers on my card!! So here is what I came up with!!

I wanted to create a basket full of flowers. I had bought some of the Dimensions Feltworks 100% wool felt and have been dying to play with it this color challenge was the PERFECT chance!! I cut out seven felt flowers using the smallest Bloom Nesting die from Lifestyle Crafts. Then I cut out one of the next size from the same set to make the larger flower. I used a Martha Stewart lotus flower punch to make all of the other flowers seven in a cream and seven in a turquoise. I used a websters pages paper for both. Then I inked the edges of all of the flowers including the felt ones with the saddle brown staz on ink pad. I layered all of the flowers and then added a lite blue pearl by Prima in the center of all of the flowers!!
I hand cut a basket shape and then added strips onto with pop up dots to make the basket look 3-D. I inked in a lite blue chalk ink first by Color Box first and then in saddle brown staz on ink. I added a lite blue vintage lace around the top of the basket and wrapped some brown string around it for even more texture. I then cut a 6X6 kraft card base and painted the edges using a malted milk paint dabber. Then I cut a cosmo cricket lite blue and cream polka dot paper to use as my card center and layered it with a brown cardstock from my mind's eye to make it pop of the kraft base. I placed a vintage doily in the center of the lite blue paper and then added my basket with pop dots and started to layer the flowers. I used a cosmo cricket rubon in the center of a stamping up label punch and inked the edges and placed it under the basket lace. I LOVE the way it turned out and I am really glad I played along with this challenge!! THANKS for stopping by and have a FABULOUS WEEKEND!! =)
