Happy Surf Day w/ Newton's Nook Designs!!

HELLO CRAFTY FRIENDS!! 

I'm up on the Newton's Nook Blog today and I've created a FUN Beach Scene combining both the NEW "Beach Bound" Stamp Set and the Retro Sun & Palm Stencil Set!! SWOON!! 
I wanted to show that you can use the Stencil Set separately as individual Layers to create Scenes for your Images too and I LOVE how it turned out!! I Die Cut the Framework Die from some Kraft Cardstock and Inked the edges with both Vintage Photo and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink!! Then I Started on my Card Panel!! I used the Land Border Dies to create my Beach Hill!! 

TIP: You don't always have to use the Border Dies to cut an ENTIRE Border!! Try using just a Portion of the Border Die to create a FUN Element to add to your Scene!! 

I Masked the Hill and Inked with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink, then added some Black Soot and Picket Fence Distress Paint Splatters along with some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink Splatters for the texture of real Sand!! 

For the Sky I Masked again and inked with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink!! Then I Sprayed the back of my Stencil with Pixie Spray and adhered it where I wanted it to be and pressed it firmly into place!! I used Purple Tape to Mask off the Palm Trunks and Inked with Gathered Twigs and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks!! Then I removed the Purple Tape and Inked the Palms with Peeled Paint and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Inks adding just a touch of Black Soot to the Centers for some Dimension!! SQUEAL!! I LOVE the way they turned out!! I Removed the Stencil and then added the Images that I colored with Copic Markers!!

Then I Die Cut the Image out using the coordinating NEW Beach Bound Dies!! Then I added some White Gel Pen Details and added some Glossy Accents to the Windows and Lights for some Dimension and Shine!! I Stamped and Embossed the "Happy Surf Day" Sentiment and then adhered the Image to my Card Panel using some Foam Tape!! I finished off the Design by adding some Bronze Jewels to the Palm Trees to resemble Coconuts and my Card was finished!! 

I LOVE the way this FUN Beach Scene turned out and I hope I've INSPIRED you to try using your Layering Stencils separately to get MORE out of them!!
