Have been INSPIRING us for the last three weeks with ways to use Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powders and the Dreamweaver Stencils!! I have been SO AMAZED with the ideas and creations that have been shared!! It isn't to late to join in on the FUN!! You can find out about the Blog Hop here on the Dreamweaver Stencil Blog or here on the Ranger Ink Blog!!
I am NEW to Dreamweaver Stencils and didn't have any of their BEAUTIFUL stencils to use for my projects!! So I decided to use the products that I did have and make my own stencils!! I used some of my Tim Holtz Sizzix Dies and cut out my own stencil designs out of Grunge Board!! I used the Pine Tree Die for my first card and cut out the Pine Tree in the center of my Grunge Board!! I then used a Ranger Paint Dabber to paint the whole piece white!! After it had dried completely I ran it through my sizzix machine using the Tim Holtz Christmas words embossing folder!! I LOVE the way it pops!! I then took a piece of card stock that I covered with double sided tape and placed the grunge board stencil on top and secured them together!! I then took my Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powders in the colors Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, and Pine Needles for the tree and then Walnut Stain, and Tea Dye for the tree trunk and sprinkled them on to the exposed tape!! I than rubbed the powders with my finger to make sure that they were pressed well into the tape and then tapped off the excess!!  I LOVED the way it looked, but wanted to take it a step further!! On the Dreamweaver Blog they have a product that some of the DT Memebers have used called Embossing Paste and I LOVED the way it looked so I wanted to imitate that process and I decided to use Claudine Hellmuth's Matte Multi Medium and I just added dabs of it to the top of the tree in places where I wanted to add some more dimension!! After adding it I then sprinkled it again with the embossing powders and I LOVE the added depth that it gave to my tree!!  I then used a star die cut and covered it with tape and then Mustard Seed Distress Embossing Powder. I added it to the top f the tree!!  To make the snow on the bottom of my card I used some glittered flocking and then added a little bit to parts of the tree as well!! I LOVED the way my card turned out and even though I had to substitute some of the products I still think that the outcome is BEAUTIFUL!! Here is my first card!!

For my second card I decided to use the Sizzix Ornaments #4 Die!! I  cut the ornament out of Grunge Board again and then took the Tim Holtz snowflake movers and shapers die and placed it on to another piece of grunge board and cut it out!! I ended up with a stencil and a grunge board snowflake.  I placed double sided tape on to the Ornament shape and then added the snowflake stencil on top!! I was alittle worried that the stencil would stick permanently to the tape and I wouldn't be able to remove the stencil after adding my Distress Embossing powders, but it came right up!! So after adding the Broken China, and Faded Jeans Distress Embossing powders to the snowflake stencil and rubbing it to make sure it was adhered good I removed the stencil and then added the Weathered Wood Distress Embossing powder to the rest of the ornament and rubbed it to adhere!! I LOVED the way it turned out!! I got a PERFECT image and then decided to ink the edges with some Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink!!  I used the Ranger Paint Dabber in silver to paint the top of the ornament and added a button and gem to the center of the snowflake for some added fun!! I then covered the snowflake cut out with the same Distress Powders and decided that my background grunge board piece needed some dimension!! So I ran it through my sizzix machine with the same Tim Holtz embossing folder after I had painted it white with a Ranger Paint dabber!! I wanted to add some more of the blue color for a visual triangle and decided to use my Versa Mark Marker to carefully added Versa Mark to the JOY and the 25 that were embossed on the grunge board background!! I added the Broken China and Faded Jeans Distress Embossing Powders and then decided to heat set it for a different look!! I really LOVE the way it turned out!! I placed the Ornament on to the card front with pop dots for added dimension and inked the edges of the cardstock with Brushed Corduroy!! Here are some pictures of the finished card!!

So I hope you'll check out the FUN going on during the rest of the Inspiration week!! You won't be disappointed!! I also hope that you'll give some of the techniques that have been shared a try!! Even if you don;t have all of the EXACT supplies!! Use what you have to alter it alittle an the outcome might just surprise you!! I am SO HAPPY with the way my cards turned out and I will be EXPERIMENTING even more with some of the FUN ideas!!
THANKS for stopping by and have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
