I wanted to play along with the challenge this month and the theme was to make a one layer card!!
You can find the challenge on their site here:
http://denami.blogspot.com/2012/04/denami-theme-challenge-10.html
I was INSPIRED by this BEAUTIFUL card made by Michele Gross!! I LOVED the different colors and the fun circle pattern!!
I looked through my growing collection of DeNami Stamps and decided to make a fun circle layered card that I embossed with 3 different embossing powders from Stamp`in Up!! =)
I wanted to mask the circles so that they would look like they were all layered together!!
After I got all of the circle stamped with Versa Mark and them embossed, I wanted to add some glimmer mist to bring the circle I had stamped with my greeting come to life!! I used Piece of Heart by Tattered Angles!! I used three different stamps from DeNami Designs.

Look at this SUPER FUN challenge this week over on the Moxie Fab World Blog here:
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/04/tueday-trigger-watercolor-butterflies.html
I decided to play aroung with the watercolor stamping and I had a BLAST!! =)
I ended up making several cards for gift sets so that I'd have a collection of gifts readdy to give away when I needed a fast present!! =)
I used the Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set from Paper Trey Ink!! I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Victorian Velvet, Wild Honey, Scattered Straw, and Persimmon. I inked up the stamps and then instead of spraying them with water I decided to try something new and I sprayed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in the color of Butternut Squash.  I stamped it on white cardstock and then cut out the butterflies and layered two together to give a dimensional effect.
I LOVE the way that the glimmer mist adds just a hint of sparkle!! It is really preey in real life!!
For the next effect I decided to white emboss the butterfly and sentiment and then do a watercolor over the top of the embossing for a resist look!! I LOVE the way they turned out!!

I also learned a NEW embossing technique after taking the online class A Cut Above!! It is still going on and MAN have I learned alot of NEW techniques!! If you aren't taking the class and you have a cutting/embossing machine you'll want to take it!! =)
You can find out more about it here http://www.onlinecardclasses.com
I learned how to Double Emboss and I am having SO much fun playing with this technique!!
I used a Lifestyle Crafts Embossing Folder and a Paper Trey Ink lable die to get the FUN Doble Embossed effect on the frot of my cards!! I used a masking paper the block the lable so when I watercolored the lable I didn't get it on the embossed edge of the card!!
Here are some close up pictures of my cards!!

I used the colored Zing Embossing powders in pink, lavender and turquoise and I LOVE the way they turned out!! I then used grey Stampin' Up ink and a Get Well sentiment stamp from Paper Trey Ink as well as the little sentiment from The Craft's Meow set!! !!  I also added some May Arts Ric Rac Ribbon to the first card to finish off the unfinished edge!!  I LOVE the way they all turned out, and I will be playing with this chevron bandaid design again in the near future!!

Party Banner, Crown and Jar!! =)

HAPPY Wednesday!! =)
I can't believe the week is half over already!!
We had a record high yesterday of 98 degrees and for April in Nebraska that's HOT!!
Beckett had his FIRST T-Ball practice of MANY to come, but it was alittle bitter sweet for me!! I can still remember my first day of T-Ball and I know he will remember these fun times too!! Everyone can tell I'm a scrapper because Beckett always posses and then comes up with ideas for pictures!! Gotta LOVE that because I know some day he will be annoyed!!
Anyway I will share some photos soon but for now I wanted to share the Party Banner, Crown and Jar that I made for My sister-in-laws mother's 50th Surprise Birthday Party!! Right away I KNEW that the Heidi Swapp paper would be the Perfect fit for the party theme!! So here is what we made!!
My 3 yr. old niece Kenna was IN LOVE with the crown that we made, so I had to take some Pictures of her wearing it!! =) We went to our local Antique store and found the vintage hanky and table runner that we cut up and used as trim for the bottom of the crown!! You can see the scalloped edge on the hanky and then that crocheted edge on the table runner. We also found that vintage turquoise daisy pin and we used that for the center of the fun GIANT flower that we made!! I rolled up some tissue paper in Bright Pink and then cut the little slits to make the giant looped tissue flower and then added some glitter!! I cut a strip of the animal paper and then scored it at 1/4 inch intervals and made a rosette for the center of the tissue flower!! I added glitter to the edge of the rosette too, and added the daisy pin to the center of the rosette!! I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the doily strip and added it to the top portion of the crown!! We cut out the letters using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge from Close to My Heart and cut them out of Silver glitter paper that we backer with black paper!! We added the large gems to the to the top of the crown and we just LOVED the way that it turned out!! =) I wanted to share that the pattern from this crown was found on the Blog of Melissa Phillips and you can find it here: http://lilybeanpaperie.typepad.com/lilybeans_paperie/2012/02/timeless-relics.html
along with the cute crown that she made using the same pattern!! =)

This is the jar that my sister-in-law Kelly found at the Antique store and just had to have!! She came up with the idea to fill it with all different sizes of gum balls and then we added the Fifty Blows for a fun little word play!! We used the sizzix label die from Tim Holtz for the base label and then cut another label and the letters from the same cricut cart. We added another Martha Stewart doily strip and then added a piece of the crochet trim and a ribbon to finish the jar band off!! We added another tissue paper flower to the top of the lid and cut a large yellow paper doily for it to sit on!! I LOVE the way that it turned out!!

Here is the FUN Party Banner!! We used the same Cricut Cart. for all of the pieces of the banner and then we added the CUTE Heidi Swapp bows to connect the banner pieces together and EVERYONE LOVED the way that this turned out!! It totally made the party and it only took a couple hours to make!! So worth the time and effort!!

We had SO much fun creating all of this Friday and the Surprise Party was such a HIT!!
THANKS for stopping by and have a FABULOUS WEEK!!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC128!! =)

WOW!! Look at these AMAZING and BRIGHT Colors for the challenge this week over on the Play Date Cafe Blog here: http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/
I wanted to play with some New Products so this is what I came up with!! =)

I used a Tim Holtz damask embossing plate on a Tim Holtz Core`dinations orange cardstock piece and then I added some Rose Inka-Gold and rubbed it on top of the embossed pattern to bring it out!!
I LOVE the way it looks in real life because it has a very pretty, but subtle shine to it!! I then folded two doilies that I bought at an Antique store and glued them together just in the center so that it would have some dimension!! I then cut a pink piece of cardstock and used some champagne glitz versa mark to stamp a floral image using a New Stamp`in Up stamp. I cut a label from Paper Trey Ink and embossed the sentiment also from Paper Trey Ink in Melon Mambo Embossing Powder from Stamp`in Up and I LOVE this fun color!! =)
I distressed all of the edges of my papers, because I LOVE the texture that it adds and then added the embossed label using pop dots!! I tied three bows out of matching ribbons and then added some May Arts burlap twine behind the bows!! I wanted to cover the center of the bows so I cut a scalloped flower out of felt using a My Favorite Things Rose die and then added a Prima pearl to the center of the rose!! I also added some more pearls to the corners of the cardstock to make the visual triangle so the eye could wonder across my card with good flow!!
I must say I LOVE the way my card came together and I had a BLAST getting to play with LOTS of my NEW products!! =) I hope if you weren't able to play along this week that you'll go and check out ALL of the AMAZING INSPIRATION that was created for this challenge and that you'll play along next week!!
THANKS for stopping by and have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
