I hope if you didn't get to play this week that you'll atleast make some time to go and look at ALL of the BEAUTIFUL INSPIRATION!! =)
So I decided to make my card for my mother for Mother's Day!! I wanted to use the FUN stamp set fron The Craft's Meow: Cherished
I have seen where people have stamped images and then covered them with UTEE and I wanted to try this technique!! My mom makes stained glass windows and I thought it would be fun to make a faux stained glass piece for her card!! =) I stamped the image onto a Pink Paislee Vintage Vouge piece of cardstock using Archival Jet Black Ink and then made sure it was dry!! I used Faber-Castle watercolor pencils to color the image in and did some shading!! Then I sprayed the entire piece with Tattered Angels Dazziling Diamonds Glimmer Mist because I wanted it to have a pretty shine underneath the UTEE!! Then once the glimmer mist had dried I poured a coat of UTEE over the top of my image!! I then picked my piece up before it was completely dry and let some of the UTEE drip off so the piece wasn't too thick!! I then cracked the piece and ripped one of the edges to give it an OLD VINTAGE feel!! I LOVE the way that it turned out!! I played around all day on sunday with this technique and I have several different takes on the same process!!
I then added it to a turquoise core`dinations cardstock and then matted the piece onto a pink cardstock from Prima!! I made the card base out of a Grey core`dinations cardstock to really frame the card!!
I added a piece of Webster's Pages Lace trim and a pink piece of tulle that I tied into a bow. I finished it off with a velvet trim from Making Memories and then added some Pins also from Making Memories!! I stamped the sentiment onto a cream cardstock using Grey ink from Stamin' Up. I LOVE the way it turned out and I know my mom is going to LOVE it!!
Here are some pictures!! =)
THANKS for stopping by and have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
