12 TAGS OF 2012!! =)

Today I decided to play along with Tim Holtz and the 12 Tags of 2012!!
Here is the link if you need Inspiration or want to play along!!
http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/02/12-tags-of-2012-a-new-direction.html#more

Here is the tag that Tim shared~~
DSC03001Here are the tags I came up with!!

For this first tag I used Tim's New Easter Die by Sizzix and cut the butterfly out of grunge board, and two pieces of cardstock. I sprayed all three with Glimmer mist in butternut squash and the stamped on one of the cardstock pieces and used crackle paint in rose and spiced marm. I then used the butterfly movers and shapers die and cut a piece of honeycomb paper in bright pink. I cut the butterfly in half and attached it to the larger butterfly center. I folded the butterfly to give it even more dimension and I LOVE how it turned out!! For the base of the tag I die cut a doily using Tim's doily edger die. I then used modeling paste that I died with some metallic paint and used the die cut for a stencil. I also used a heart doily die from sizzix and repeated the same process on another tag. Once they were dry I layered them to create my background after I stamped using the large background paris stamp by Tim Holtz. I inked the background with Distress inks (Vintage rose,  Worn Lipstick and Ripened Persimon) I attached the butterfly and added some silk ribbon by May Arts Ribbon that I inked and sprayed with tattered angels glimmer mist!!

For the second tag I used the die cut doily that I used for the stencil on the first tag. I coated the whole thing with modeling paste and then stamped on it using Tim's script stamp. I cut a piece of Tim's core`dinations cardstock for the tag base and ran it through his embossing folder then used distress inks and Inkagold to define the design even more. I LOVE how it turned out. I then distressed the edges and attached it to the tag base. I die cut the maniquin and attached the honeycomb paper after I inked it up. I rapped May Arts Burlap twine around the spool and embossed the buttons and added twine to the centers. I attached a memo pin and stamped a sentiment from The Craft's Meow NEW Sew Stamp Set. I LOVE this NEW stamp set. I then attached everything to the tag and added a silk May Arts Ribbon to the top with a Tim Holtz garmet pin.
I had a BLAST playing along with the challenge and can't wait for the next challenge!!

THANKS for stopping by and have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)

Trigger Tuesday: Chiclectic

I LOVED the INSPIRATION PHOTO for this weeks Trigger Tuesday, which can be found every week over on the Moxie Fab World Blog here: http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/02/tuesday-trigger-chiclectic.html
Even if you decided not to or are unable to play along you can still blog hop along with those who are playing along to find TONS of AMAZING INSPIRATION!! =)
So here was the Trigger photo for this week~

I wanted to create several different takes on this so here is the first card~

I wanted to use the Large Fabric Background stamp by Hero Arts for my card background so I stamped it with versamark ink onto pink cardstock and then embossed it with clear embossing powder to lock in the pink color of the cardstock behind the embossing powder. Then I used several distress ink colors (Rusty Hing, Spiced Marmalade, and Wild Honey) to color the rest of the card background orange like the wall paper in the trigger photo!! I LOVE the way it turned out!! Then I used a metal die from My Favorite Stamps and cut it from gold cardstock. I wanted it to mimic the headboard in the trigger photo!! I used the fabric paper from Amy Tangerine and added the ribbon edging the both sides and then added the frame on top!! I then stamped a sentiment from the My Mind's Eye stamp set and used pop dots to attach it to the frame for some added interest!!
I LOVE the way my first card turned out!!

My next card looks like this~

Again I used the Large Fabric Background stamp from Hero Arts, but this time instead of embossing with a clear embossing powder I used Rose Moire'. It is a pink with gold mixed in it and it was PERFECT for this challenge!! =)
I then cut out several border strips from a gold cardstock (My Favorite Things Die).
I staggered them just alittle so that they would fit together like a puzzle. I backed those strips with a turquoise piece of cardstock and then I added some May Arts Grosgrain ribbon and then I cut out an open doily die from My Favorite Things.
I then ran the Amy Tangerine fabric paper through my sizzix and cut a doily so I would have a place for the sentiment. LOVING the way that the cards turned out!! =)
THANKS for stopping by and have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)

The Craft's Meow Challenge!! =)

Here is my entry!! =)
I decided to cut up some of my FAVORITE stamps to make new ones so I could use them on the fun Birthday card I wanted to make!! I decided to cut the sunflower away from the stem on the Happy Fall set
Happy Fall
and also the butterfly from the Fly Free Set
Fly Free Stamp Set
I have done this ALOT lately and the first time I tried it I was afraid of ruining my FAVORITE stamps, but they go right back together on the stamp block and no one will ever know that you cut them up!! I wanted a fun background stamp and after looking at my collection the sunflower was the one that jumped out to me. I think it makes the PERFECT background stamp!! I used Chili Powder Jenni Bowlin ink and stamped on some New My Mind's Eye grid paper from the Miss Caroline collection!! The music paper is also New MME paper!! The die cut is from the Spellbinders Eyelet labels set. The ribbon is May Arts Velvet Ribbon and  the flowers are Prima!! I couldn't believe that I had a velvet flower that was an exact match to the May Arts Ribbon~~how LUCKY was that!! =)
Hope you like it as much as I do!!??

Cool Tools: Around the House Challenge!! =)

While I was cleaning my scrap room my 5yr. old son Beckett decided to help!!  =)
He started shredding several of my SAVE pile pieces of Decorative 12x12 papers instead of just the throw away pile!!
I was caught off guard and decide to save them even though they were all shredded up!! Turns out that the paper shredder is actually a pretty COOL TOOL for creating paper pieced works of art!!
Well once this challenge was posted I knew it was meant to be!!
I actually used several products that I had just laying around that I needed to use!! I even used several other COOL TOOLS that I found just laying around the house~~an old flip flop that I used for stamping to add texture to my canvas, an old credit card for spreading my paint to make the grass at the bottom of my canvas, and old nail that I found in my husbands parts drawer for adding scratched circles into the canvas and several other COOL TOOLS that I haven't mentioned!!
Here is what I came up with~~

I am ALWAYS inspired by the works of Christy Tomlinson and if you have NEVER heard of her or her classes you'll have to go and check her blog out here: http://christytomlinson.typepad.com/
She is SO AWESOME!! I was lucky enough to go and take a live and in person class with her at SPARK this year and she is just as sweet as she seems on her blog!!
She teaches AMAZING on-line classes-I have taken them ALL and I would recommend them to anyone who would like to learn more about Mixed Media!!

So anyway THANKS for stopping by and don't forget to visit the Moxie Fab World Blog here:

Cool Tools: The cutting and Trimming Challenge!! =)

Hello!!
I created this piece of art for my Niece to put in her bedroom!! She LOVES horses and the carousal. So when I saw this stamp set from Lawn Fawn I knew it would make the perfect center piece!! I also decided to use several pieces of natural fabrics because Aubrey's room is done in all neutrals and I thought it would tie the piece to the room!!
I used several COOL TOOLS while creating this piece, as you can tell the images are VERY TINY so in order to get them all cut out without a mistake I had to rely on my AWESOME Micro scissors. I actually got them at an EMT Medial Training Class and they can be used for many different materials!! They are supposed to be part of a traveling medical tool kit, but I bought a couple pairs so that I could use them for my crafting along with medical emergencies!! =)
I also used my fabric scissors and a really fun fraying tool that my husband made for me out of some scrap metal pieces from a metal brush!! It makes easy work of fraying the ends of fabric and ribbon!!
Here is what I came up with!! =)

Well I know that my Niece LOVES her Canvas Art piece and I hope you have enjoyed it too!!
Don't forget if you want to check out all of the other entries you can find the here:

Cool Tools: Die Cutting challenge!! =)

Hello!! =)
Today I decided to play along with the challenge and I made a couple different pieces that would qualify for this challenge!!
First is this canvas piece that I made using all canvas die cuts from Prima!!  I LOVE the way it turned out!!

Next is this canvas TRIO that I made for my sister's Play Room. I used papers and Die Cuts from Bella Blvd. and I LOVE the way they turned out!! I used ever single piece of the paper including the paper tab that you usually throw away that has the collection name and the company info on it!! I decided after cutting it away that it would make the PERFECT stems for my flowers, so I accordion folded them and attached them with pop dots to give them dimension!! Now in the future people will know alittle about the picture!! =) Here are some photos!!

Cool Tools Week: The Punches Challenge!! =)

Hello!!
Today I decided to play along with the challenge over on the Moxie Fab World Blog to celebrate the release of their new publication Cool Tools!! You can find out more about it all here:
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/01/cool-tools-week-punches-challenge.html

I decided to dig out all of my butterfly punches!! I know we ALL have a TON of them with all of the designs, styles and sizes that are available and I realized I have WAY TOO MANY!! =)
I have also been playing along over on the Paper Trey Ink Blog this week helping them celebrate their 5th Year Anniversary and today post was about their new Beautiful Butterflies set designed by Maile Belles and she shared some AMAZING cards on her blog here: http://mailebelles.blogspot.com/
I was so INSPIRED by this card she created and shared on her blog~
It hit me that the design would be the PERFECT fit for the card that I wanted to create only using punches!! So it took ALOT of trial and error to come up with the right mixture of sizes to work together and then figuring out how many punches of each design it would take, but in the end the results were SO WORTH IT!! =)
So here is the card I came up with using Maile's card as my inspiration~

I used the Martha Stewart punch, a new butterfly punch by WPlus9 Design Studio called the Layered Butterfly Die,  the Circles Stacker 1 Die (doily), and the Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Butterfly Die. I used papers from the New My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Collection and the Stamp set is from Paper Trey Ink Love and Marriage Stamp set!!
I LOVE the way it came together and I hope you have a FABULOUS VALENTINE'S WEEK!!

Cool Tools: Embossing and Debossing Challenge!! =)

Hello!!
Today I wanted to play along with this challenge!!
I created this cute little mini journal and I used several different embossing and debossing techniques throughout it!! So here are some photos!!
I used an embossing folder and then applied glimmer mist. after it was dry I went back in and added InkaGold over the top and I LOVE the effect that it gives!! It looks REALLY neat in real life!!
(Its kinda hard to capture on film!!)
I used a sizzix die to make the cut little window box and I LOVE the way that it turned out!!

I used modeling paste on the cover over a Crafter's Workshop stencil!! I added a metallic pink paint to color the modeling paste and in real life it has this really pretty sparkle to it!! I will be doing this technique again!! =)

I did some layering above and below the transparency piece to add even more interest to this divider page!! LOVE it!! There are several punched  butterflies, so it is 3 dimensional!!
LOVE this velvet dot paper from Tattered Angels!! They never marketed it so the only way you could get it was to order a kit with it in it, or to have bought some at a show!! I sprayed it with some glimmer mist and then added the punched and stamped bird!! (from Stampin' Up)

I used a text embossing folder after I had stamped this text stamp!! I LOVE the way it looks!! The stamps are all from Prima!!
Here is another sizzix pop open box and then I added a stamped and embossed title in the center!!
(this stamp is from Paper Trey Ink)
This is a My Favorite Things Stamp and I just LOVE it!! I did some paper piecing and added some texture for a real 3-D effect to bring her to life!! =)

I used some of my husband field report paper that is carbon copy!!
I used the Hero Arts/Sizzix Stamp and Die cutting set so you could see the layer of paper underneath, plus I LOVE the pop of yellow underneath the stamped butterfly!!
On this page I made a pocket out of book text paper and then added a fun die cut out of glitter paper to the front of the pocket!! The card in the pocket was stamped layering several different stamps from Basic Grey and Paper Trey Ink!!
I added tissue paper from & Gypsies to the front of this divider page and then misted it with glimmer mist and added InkaGold to the top of that once it was dry!! It caught on all of the ripples that I left on the tissue paper and I LOVE the way it looks in real life!!
Another stamped image from My Favorite Things!! I did more paper piecing and added texture for a 3Dimensional look!! The background stamping was done using a couple different stamps from Tim Holtz!!

More Hero Arts/Sizzix Stamping and die cutting!!
A fun vintage Maya Road calendar piece that I had been hoarding and I finally decide to put it to good use in my journal!! =)

Well I hope you LOVE my journal as much as I do~~I actually made several of these to give away for a swap and I know they will be put to good use!! Mine is already full of some fun creations!!
