HELLO!!
I'm here for the First Day of the Newton's Nook Designs August Release!! Today we are showcasing the New "Mermaid Crossing" Stamp Set!!
SQUEAL!! =) I just LOVE this Sweet Set and the Images in it!! I had SO MUCH FUN creating my Projects for today and I hope you'll ENJOY them too!!?? I Started by making a BEAUTIFUL Pendant for a Necklace as a Birthday Present for my Niece!! I started with a Large Hob Nob Bezel and then added some Prima Marketing Patterned Paper, some Melissa Francis Rose Vintage Glass Glitter, Pearl Seed Beads and a few Star Fish that I Stamped and Embossed and Colored with Copic Markers and coated with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Marker!! I Coated it with a Layer of Ice Resin just enough to barely Cover the stuff in the Bezel and then set it up to Dry for 24 Hours!! I repeated the First Step again by adding another Layer of the Melissa Francis Rose Vintage Glass Glitter, some Pearl Seed Beads and a few more Star Fish colored the same way!! I tried to layer the Glitter in mostly the same Place, but added some in a the Top Corner too and then placed the Star Fish in some different Places to add LOTS of Depth to the Bezel!! I Coated the Layer again with just enough Ice Resin to Barely Cover things and set it up to Dry again for 24 Hours!! After the 24 Hours of Drying were up I Added just a Touch more of the Melissa Francis Rose Vintage Glass Glitter and then added the Mermaid Image that I Stamped and Embossed onto Distress Water Color Paper!! I used my Copic Markers to Color in my Image!! I also added some White Gel Pen Highlights and used some WoW Glitter Embossing Powder on the Mermaids Tail for some Dimension and some Sparkle!! I coated it on both the Front and Back Side with Ranger Multi Matte Medium!! (If you don't want your Image to become Translucent its VERY IMPORTANT to coat it with some type of Paper Sealer otherwise it will become see through in the Ice Resin as it soaks into the Entire Image and Dries!!) I Fussy Cut it out and added a Star Fish with a Seed Bead Pearl in the Center in the Mermaid's Hair and I just LOVE that Little Touch!! I wanted to add a Necklace too, but decided at the last minute it would be TOO MUCH!! I Coated the Entire Bezel the rest of the way with Ice Resin until a Nice Rounded Edge was formed and then let it Set Up!! This Step took alittle longer than usual and I'm thinking it was due to the Extremely Wet Weather conditions we've been having!!?? Either way it finally Set Up and I just LOVE the Way it turned out!! (When you are making Ice Resin Filled Bezels you can Fill them however you'd like and if you don't want to wait for ALL the different Layers to Dry you can add everything in just one Layer!! I just LOVE the end results when you take the Extra Time to do the Different Layers!! For more Info on Ice Resin you can Visit the Ice Resin Blog!! They just Joined the Ranger Industries Family!! YIPPEE!!) I added it to a Card Base that I made by Die Cutting some Prima Marketing Patterned Paper with the Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stax Die Cuts and then I Stamped a FUN Border Design!! I used Colored Pencils and Gamsol to Blend the Coloring and then I Coated the Star Fish with some Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Marker and then Coated them with WoW Clear Embossing Powder!! I Die Cut a Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Bow from some Burlap Paper and Created the Sweet Little Bow for the Top of my Bezel!! A Vintage Button finished it off!!
