May-Blog-Hop-Inspiration

HELLO!!
I'm stopping in to share the FUN Card I made for the PTI May Blog Hop!! The Challenge was to use the colors Aqua & Melon!! LOVE these COLORS together and separately!! So I couldn't wait to create something!! I wanted to use some of my New PTI Ink Goodies from the May Release too so I Inked up the Life is Beautiful Stamp Set along with the coordinating Butterfly Dies and the Wet Paint III Stamp Set!! LOVE these!! I KNEW I wanted to play with some Water Colors so I played along with the PTI Make It Monday Challenge #165 as well!! =) Boy OH Boy is Betsy Veldman AWESOME!!  =) I know MANY of you already KNOW this, but if you don't you should seriously go and check her Blog out!! =) After I watched the Video on the PTI Blog I Knew I had to give the Artsy Background Water Colors Technique a try!! Then I ended up making SEVERAL Cards because I was having SO MUCH FUN!! =)
I stamped the Butterfly two times using both Ocean Tides and Melon Berry PTI Dye Inks!! I offset them alittle to create a FUN Shadow Effect for my Butterfly Die Cut!! I then pulled the color away from the image alittle using the technique that Betsy shared in the Video for the Make it Monday Challenge!! I had also seen an AWESOME tutorial over on the WPLUS9 Blog showing how to create a Marbled Fingernail Polished Water Color Paper that you can use for Die Cutting and I had been wanting to try that technique out, so I mixed together a couple of my Turquoise, Melon and Black Fingernail Polish Colors and created some AWESOME Water Color Paper and I Die Cut the coordinating Butterfly from it!! LOVE how it looks!! I will be doing this again!! =) I then cut the Decorative top layer from some Vellum!! I layered them altogether and added some Black Gems for a body!! I added the Water Colored Splatters and then I stamped my Friend sentiment in Black and the rest of my sentiment in Ocean Tide Ink!! I glued down just the Body of the Butterfly to the center of the water colored shadow and my card was finished!!

Don't you LOVE it!!??  =)

THANKS SO MUCH for stopping by today and have a FABULOUS MEMORIAL DAY WEEK!!
